“Let the brainstorming begin! What could I make with these two fun items? For those of you who live in Minnesota, you know that the winter weather is still in full force. All I am waiting for is spring to hit! With spring in mind, I decided to use the berry boxes and utensils for an exciting kid’s picnic.

The box contained the following items: recycled berry boxes and wooden utensils

First thing is to making these utensils pop! Ombre is very popular right now and this is an easy tutorial on how to add a little pizazz to the wooden utensils.

Materials needed for ombre utensils:

• Wood utensils
• Paint brush
• Masking Tape (or painters tape)
• Two colors of your choice (try and stick to the same color family… I chose red and light pink)

Step 1: Use the masking tape and mark off the handle for where you will be painting.

Step 2:  Pour out the paint for the two colors you have selected (make sure to leave a little space between the two colors…you will see below why we did this).

Step 3: Paint one end of the utensil with the lighter color and the other end with the darker color. Leave the middle section unpainted.

Step 4: Combine your two colors until you get the desired hue. Use this mixture to paint the middle section of the utensil.

It is picnic time! Using leftover fabric for my basket liners, I wrapped up a few PB & J sandwiches, some goldfish and veggies to fill my berry boxes. Using mod podge and glitter, I made initial tags to personalize the picnic basket for each child attending.

  Don’t forget about dessert for the picnic! I whipped up some angel food cake parfaits and tied the ombre utensils to the glasses.”

“After a little brainstorming (with my mother in fact) and some experimentation, this is what we have:

A springy, light hearted, mini-cupcake display piece.

Love? You can do it too! Here’s what you need:

1. Cut a length of crepe paper streamer-about 3 feet-and fold it in half 3 times.

2. Cut a scallop pattern along one of the edges.

3. Unfold the streamer and start hot-glueing it under the lid of the mason jar.

• Once it is all wrapped around, it should look like this:

4. Hot glue a paper straw in the center of the inside of the lid.

To finish it off, you can glue on some paper leaves and add some ribbon trim…if you desire.  There you have it!

Use some floral foam or styrofoam to anchor the straws…you don’t want to loose your cupcakes!

So, it’s almost Easter and you have decided to do something cute at the last minute? Think no more. Thank Thuy from My Paper Pinwheel by checking out her facebook page!

Hi Party On Design Fans! It’s Thuy from My Paper Pinwheel here with a quick last minute party favor idea for Easter. These are called Cotton Candy Push Up Pops! I simply took a empty push up pop and place a mini cupcake liner on the bottom. I then filled my push up pop with cotton candy. I used the Bunny Chevron stickers from Party On Designs to wrap the push up pop and Viola! A cute and easy treat for your Easter party! If you are not a big push up fan than you can simply use the same labels that come with a clear cellophane bag and add some marshmallow peeps and that would make such a cute party favor too!

Cake Pops… Gorgeous! Maybe you are a horrible baker (like me) and cannot make a ball that round or beautful? No problem… Marshmallow eggs, dipped & sprinkles… TOO CUTE

Genius… She used the printable paper and turned it into a edible image and adhered it onto the oreos! SO CUTE… macaroons, yes Please Please!!

Now, all that cuteness. This is my favorite. She used the little labels, decorated the fry boxes and made yummy delicious goody bags sealed with a cello bag. Tell me that isn’t what you want brought over to your house from your neighbor!?

Of course, you will be thirsty after eating it all… so you may need to wash it down with something cute

Oh, and did I mention it’s not fair that she can bake everything?

I’m a wife & mom first.  Of four amazing kids.  3 boys who are really into sports, and a daughter who is our princess. Oh, and we have a really cute dog named Remi. They are the reason behind everything I do.  I’ve always had the bug to create things, always loved art.  When I had kids I wanted to make their cakes, invites, you-name-it.  My kids had a habit of wanting a theme you couldn’t find at the local party store, so I had to come up with things on my own.   I started making cakes for friends, set up a facebook page, and the rest is history.  I love being a cake-artist – but I’m really just a mom having fun at what I do!  If I can do it, so can you.                      Like her Facebook HERE

Let’s walk through this (very) easy process, starting with supplies: You need a mason jar lid (not the rim with the disk lid, but a solid lid) and a wooden candle stick. And some ribbon.

Paint the candle stick.  Easy enough so far?

Run a straight stitch through the center of your ribbon to gather.

The next part (pictured above) is the tiniest bit tricky…You want to glue one end of the ribbon to the lid, wrap the ribbon around, and carefully glue the other end of the ribbon to the lid being sure not to glue the thread.  Carefully.  You want to be able to pull the thread to adjust your gathers around the lid.  And if you glue the thread, no big deal.  You would just go around and glue the gathers to the lid.  Embellish with some fanciness if you so choose.

Glue the candlestick in the center of the bottom of the lid.

Flip it over and you have a little mini cupcake stand.  I am thinking place-card settings for a spring-inspired dinner party.  Super inexpensive, unique, and fun.  And re-useable.  I love re-useable!
